Walter John Nentwich

Walter John Nentwich, age 69 of Atascosa, Texas went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2018. Walter, born December 2, 1948 in San Antonio, was the oldest of fourteen children of John William Nentwich and Mary Ann Brysch Nentwich. He was a member of the Medina Valley High School graduating class of 1966 and also had an Associate Degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from St. Phillip’s College. He served in the Army National Guard and was the owner and operator of Unitemp-Southwest. Walter was a member of the Tri-County Antique Tractor Pullers Association and proudly won several trophies for his participation in their events. He was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, serving on several committees and volunteering for pretty much anything that the church needed.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Nentwich; brother and sister-in-law, George and Barbra Nentwich; infant sister, Theresa Nentwich; infant brothers, Joseph and Martin Nentwich; and brother-in-law, Adrian Wiatrek.
Survivors include his children, Shannon (Korey) Maddox of Atascosa, Michael (Patricia) Nentwich of Germany, Marcyanna (Kenneth) Nighswander of Natalia, Christopher (Rie) Nentwich of Japan; grandchildren, Ashley Duff (Justin), Haley Cook, Zachary Lawyer, Allison and Kayden Maddox, Michael Nentwich II, Taylor and Gwendolyn Nentwich, Nicole, Dylan, Lacey, Cameron and Dakota Nighswander, Lyla and Akira Nentwich; great grandchild, Westley Phillips and another great grandchild due in August; brothers, Bernard (Sherrill) Nentwich, Paul (Linda) Nentwich, Roy (Barbra) Nentwich, all of Atascosa, Leon (Pat) Nentwich of Houston, Edward (Jimmie Louise) Nentwich of Weimar; sisters, Rosetta (Larry) Busby, Helen (Charles) Craig, all of Atascosa, Marian (Dennis) Burrell of San Antonio, Agnes (David) Bailey of College Station; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 5 to 8 pm with the Holy Rosary recited at 7 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10 am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Macdona. Following the Mass, a reception will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven church hall.
