Virgil Francis Jungman

Virgil Francis Jungman, of La Coste, entered eternal rest on the evening of December 31, 2018, at the age of 64 years. He was born October 27, 1954 in Hondo, the youngest of three children of George John Jungman and Evelyn Lucille Keller Jungman.
Virgil graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1973 and began working at Lacostex Oil Refinery in La Coste after graduation. He then became a Master Plumber and worked for Castroville Appliance and Plumbing for over 46 years, serving Castroville, La Coste and other communities in Medina County and the surrounding area.
Virgil loved spending time with his grandsons and attending their activities. He loved playing pool and enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing and swimming at the Medina River or deer hunting.
On February 21, 1981, he married Debra “Debbie” Leah Kowalik at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Virgil and Debbie were blessed with 37 wonderful years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Jungman of La Coste; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Monica Nabors of Castroville; grandchildren, Nathan and Garrett Nabors; sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Leonard Saathoff of Hondo; sister-in-law, Doris Elaine Jungman of Quihi; sisters-in-laws and spouses, Linda and Prentiss Johnson, Elaine and Brian MacLaughlin; brother-in-law and spouse, Ken and Traci Kowalik; mother-in-law, Janet Negron, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Jungman and his brother, Russell Jungman.
Visitation was Sunday, January 6, 2019 starting at 4:30 pm at St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection was Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Virgil’s memory to either St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery, American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
