Shirley Ruth Campbell Balencia, of Moore, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, in San Antonio, at the age of 81.
She was born in San Antonio on August 22, 1936 to Grover Cleveland and Ida Mae (Henel) Campbell, who both preceded her in death, along with her brothers Carl Olenick, Melvin Hector, Leonard Campbell; sisters, Trilby Olenick, Hazel Mimicae, Alice Helmick, Betty Mimicae, and daughter-in-law, Maria Balencia.
On September 25, 1950 she married Philip F. Balencia, who also precedes her.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Joseph and wife Carmen, Philip and wife Marlene, Mark and wife Laura, Johnny and wife Elsa, Luke and wife Tonie Leann, Timothy and wife Dora, and Jacob; daughters, Phylis Martin and husband Stewart, Margaret Haywood, and Lee Anne Hernandez; brother, Patrick Campbell and wife Linda; 32 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine.
Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine, with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Devine.
