Schmidt, Brown, and Crouch earn Top 200 recognition from THSBCA

It’s mid-July but accolades continue to roll in for a couple of former Devine Warhorse baseball players and for one that will be entering his senior season in 2019. Graduated seniors Connor Schmidt and Kyler Brown along with upcoming senior Newt Crouch combined to land 10 spots on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Top 200 for individual statistics accumulated throughout the Warhorses 2018 Regional Quarterfinal run through the playoffs.
“I am extremely honored and proud that I had the opportunity to coach young men like Connor and Kyler and I am excited to get Newt back for one more season,” stated Head Coach George Villa.
The following is statistic-based from all Class 4A programs from around the state:
Schmidt: 101st—.411 batting average, 14th—10 pitching victories, 7th—108 strikeouts, 6th—0.41 earned run average.
Brown: 161st—33 base hits, 139th—2 triples.
Crouch: 66th—.427 batting average, 44th—41 hits, 128th—27 runs scored, 64th—16 stolen bases.
