Warhorse powerlifters Steven “Bulldog” Ramirez and Lucas Byrd are competing in the State meet this Saturday, March 24 at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.
Ramirez took 1st in the 165 lb. weight class at Regionals with a total weight lifted of 1,425 lbs., and is currently ranked 2nd in the state. Byrd was 2nd in the 181 lb. weight class in Regionals, lifting a total weight of 1,460 lbs., and is ranked 3rd in the state.
“These boys have worked very hard to get to this point and are ready to end the season on a great note,” Coach Paul Gomez said. “They are ready and determined as ever to have a great showing at the State Meet in Abilene.”
