Put an umbrella in it

My daughter and I were laying in our beach lounge chairs by her kiddie pool “pretending we were at the beach” this weekend when she decided to go inside and get us something to drink. I’m going to bring out a “delicious treat” she said. “I’m going to put something in our drinks, and it’s not sugar, I promise,” she added.
I assumed then, that she must be planning to top off our sodas with the whipped cream spray, but I was way off. When she finally got back out to the kiddie pool, she was carrying two red Solo cups filled with Big Red and a wooden craft stick with a piece of paper taped to the top of them.
She had cut out umbrella shaped pieces of paper, and colored them to look like umbrellas, and then taped them to little wooden stick pegs and had them elegantly sitting on the brim of our cups. She colored them with markers, and I quickly noticed a little bit of green marker was bleeding off into my Big Red, but I didn’t have the heart to tell her. It was the most adorable thing, and she was so proud of herself for making us “delicious, refreshing drinks with umbrellas on top.”
So, if you want to enjoy the sun instead of complaining about this humidity and heat, and pretend like you’re at the beach, put an umbrella in your drink!
