San Antonio media reported that there was a fatal accident near Devine this past Monday evening, November 5, but the accident was actually in the Jourdanton area. It happened around 5:30 am.
Jourdanton VFD as well as DPS responded to a major accident involving multiple vehicles on FM173 and FM1333. One person was deceased upon arrival according to a report.
According to DPS “A 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Kevin Andrew Gamboa, 18, of Poteet was traveling North on FM 1333 near the intersection of SH 173. For reasons not yet known, Mr. Gamboa struck a truck tractor and trailer that was traveling East on SH 173. Mr. Gamboa died at the scene, the driver of the truck suffered non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and all contributing factors are currently unknown.”
The Texas Department of Public Safety would like to remind all drivers to minimize distractions, don’t drive fatigued, don’t drink and drive, obey traffic control devices and always wear your safety belt.
