Paul Augustus Jones, III of San Antonio, passed away on July 9, 2017 at the age of 74 years. Paul was born December 27, 1942 in Bexar County, one of two children born to Paul A. Jones, II and Kate Sublett Jones. He was a graduate of Corpus Christi Ray High School, the University of Texas-Austin with a BS in pre-law and held a Master’s Degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University.
Before his retirement in 2006, Paul was the owner and operator of Gidden Jones, Inc. Commercial Construction Company. On July 15, 1978 he married Janet Lynn Davidson at a ceremony held in San Antonio. They would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary this Saturday.
Paul was preceded in death by parents and his sister, Judy Mulkey. Survivors include his wife, Janet Jones of San Antonio; daughter and son-in-law, Morgan and Nathan Tondre of Castroville; daughter, Elizabeth Vick of San Antonio and grandchildren, Brooks Tondre and Sloan Tondre of Castroville.
There will be a Celebration of Paul’s Life held at the home of Morgan and Nathan Tondre on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Memorials may be made in Paul’s memory to the American Heart Association or to the charity of your choice.
