Open House, live music at Devine Acres Sept. 21

Devine Acres is hosting their fall season with an Open House this year featuring “Live music and Burgers, Oh My!” This Friday, September 21st is the big event and the community is invited to come and celebrate all the exciting new additions. There will be live music by local musician Keith Lutz and plenty of hamburgers on the grill.
The Mason Jar Market will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. stocked with seasonal decor and a new bakery with a line of freshly brewed seasonal coffees and lattes. See advertisement for details on offers for that day featuring a free admission to the Fall Country Fest.
The live music will be from 6:30 to 9 pm under the newly renovated pavilion. Burgers and fountain drinks available. Complimentary tea, lemonade and desert. Invite your friends for a fun evening on the farm. (Adults only please. BYOB).
The farm activities will not be available during these events, but will open on Sept 29 for the Fall Season, see below.
Lots of Improvements
Every year there is some new entertainment, activity, things to see, or a new portion of the farm has been developed to keep folks bringing their families to join in on the fun.
This year the summer was spent by adding loads of new stuff and improvements.
The main pavilion, The Sleigh Barn has been extended in the length of the pavilion and the flooring has been re-surfaced.
“The sides have been closed in with big, beautiful windows,” owner Debi Capps said. “We have added ceiling fans as well. Our hope is to create a more comfortable environment for our customers on both hot and cold days. The improvements sure will be nice for field trips and our Pancakes with Santa event in December. Be sure to come out this fall for the Fall CountryFest on Sundays and enjoy live music by Keith Lutz in The Sleigh Barn while enjoying one of our grilled burgers. Keith will be playing from 11:30-2:30.”
At The Mason Jar Market, the entire shop has been remodeled, painted and updated!
“We have added a bakery with a variety of fresh baked cookies,” Capps said. “We will be selling them by the bucket! You can still purchase our yum-eee homemade banana, pumpkin and lemon breads! Our daughter, Emily Morales, will be offering specialty coffees this year such as lattes, cappuccinos and seasonal favorites such as pumpkin spice. ”
Of course, the special gifts, ornaments and other items that have always been found in this unique gift shop are still there to browse for those hard to gift people on your list.
And now there is a school bus at the farm. The bus serves as a “corn crib”. This is a very popular fall attraction up north. It is similar to a sandbox only the kids play in the corn instead. The bus will be filled with corn and toys for kids to enjoy playing with! It also makes an adorable photo op!
Swings! The farm has added a whole row of swings for kids to enjoy!
“We will call them The Red Flyers!” Capps said.
“In the spring of ’18 we added a big building we call ‘The Coop’. Visit the Coop this fall and enjoy sitting in one of the twelve porch swings while listening to storytelling or watching a cute move about Spookly, the square pumpkin. Spookly is a great character building story for the kiddos.”
Since the farm (and all the fun things to do) is not open all year, here are the times coming up for everyone to visit.
They will be open five weekends September 29th-October 28th for the Fall CountryFest. Saturdays 10-5:00 and Sundays 11-5:00.
