New changes in Justice of the Peace Pct. 4

The Justice of Peace, Precinct 4 announces that it has instituted new changes in the hopes of making the office more user-friendly and efficient for our citizens. Some of the more significant changes are listed below.
New Office Hours: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The office will remain open during the lunch hour for the convenience of citizens who cannot afford to be away from work, and will now be open on Friday afternoons as well.
Live Persons on Phone: The office staff will now be fielding phone calls so that citizens can speak to a staffer about their situation, instead of working through the old automated answering system. The only time an answering machine will field the call is if all staffers are busy or the office is closed. It is our hope that this will do away with much of the frustration that came from having to navigate the old answering system with its many options.
Please be advised that it is illegal for office staff to give any legal advice, and so the staff may be limited on what information they may provide. Note to Citizens: It is not permitted by law for any judge to discuss a case (whether it is already filed or not) with only one party. This is called an Ex Parte communication and it is forbidden in courts everywhere. If you find a judge to discuss your case, don’t be alarmed if the judge immediately stops the conversation. He is not being rude. He is just doing what the law absolutely requires.
