The Natalia Mustang Baseball team will be one of twelve teams set to compete this Thursday-Saturday at the Edgewood ISD Sports Complex. Natalia competed very well a season ago finishing in 2nd place and they are hoping for another strong appearance this season.
“We have been hard at work and are excited for the challenges that await us this weekend,” said Coach Philip Martinez.
Natalia will compete in one of four pools. Natalia opens the tournament at 1:00 p.m. Friday vs. the Sam Houston Hurricanes and will battle Memorial at 5:00 p.m.
Other teams competing in the tournament include: Wagner, Jefferson, Stockdale, Kennedy (White), Edison, Laredo Nixon, Cole, Kennedy and John Jay.
Dependent on how Natalia does in pool play will determine if they advance to the Silver or Gold bracket on Friday and into Saturday.
Natalia was scheduled to battle Nixon-Smiley on Monday night, February 26th on the road, but wet field conditions moved this game to press night.
