The Natalia Mustangs will be hosting a home scrimmage this Thursday, August 24 with games at 6:00 p.m. for Junior Varsity and 7:00 p.m. for Varsity, both against SA Cole.
The Mustangs have great numbers in the leadership category with over a dozen seniors as well as a dozen+ juniors on the varsity team! They are looking forward to a great season and are off to a good start with the Bracket scrimmage results. “Overall, we were confident with the execution and assignment play from the scrimmage. It is a process and we MUST get better,” said Coach Chad Graves.
“We still have a ton of work to do. I felt like our kids played hard. We wanted to be physical and to play with relentless effort. I think we took a small step forward with those two goals in mind. We must fix the details. We cannot have a letdown or busted assignment coming off of the installation weeks. Eliminating pre-snap penalties and getting 11 hats to the ball is something we must be better at. We want to go into the second scrimmage playing a little better, correcting the issues from the 1st scrimmage and get us into the right position to get ready for the season home opener against John Paul II,” Coach Graves said.
Natalia will host the John Paul II Guardians in Mustang Stadium next Friday, September 1 with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
