Mickey Lurena (Wells) Cochran, 86, entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 13, 2017. She retired as the Postmaster of Moore, Texas and was well known throughout her life helping her husband Bullet raise watermelons, and peanuts among many other things.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother AL R. and Vina Wells; husband James Leslie “Bullet” Cochran Jr.; brothers Roy Wells, Coy Wells, and sister Alva Mae Stribling and a grandson Wade Leslie DuBose.
She is survived by her sister Ida Marie Grumbles of Jourdanton.
She is survived by daughter Carolyn Pickett, and husband Jacky Pickett; grandsons J. Lewis DuBose and wife Joanie, Charlie P. DuBose and wife Michelle, and James R. “JR” DuBose and wife Lisa. Great-grandchildren Hayden (Bullet), Kylie Jo, and Kyrie DuBose: Charles, Amber, and Addison DuBose; and Clint, Brooke, and Harper DuBose.
She is also survived by lifelong friends Ace and Claudella Poteet, whom she treated like her own son and daughter.
She is also survived by daughter Edith; grandchildren Kim, KC, and Karla, and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine.
