Melissa H. Medellin, of San Antonio, formally of Natalia, passed away Friday August 31, 2018 in San Antonio, at the age of 55.
Melissa was born November 19, 1962 in Hondo, Texas to Juan Sr. and Maria (Rodriguez) Hernandez, both who precede her in death.
On May 9, 1991 she married Felimon Medellin.
Melissa was a graduate of Natalia High School and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She was employed by theEdgewood Independent School District as the Health Service Director.
She is survived by her husband Felimon; son, Rosendo Junior and wife Marissa Medellin; brothers, Bobby, Juan Jr., Hector Hernandez; sisters, Anna H. Obaya, Diana H. Perez; and grandchildren, Mikaela Yuleen Medellin, Emma Rose Medellin, NixiNicolett Snow Medellin, Eevee Medellin, Alayna, Nadia, Cambria, and Ethan Nickoli Medellin.
Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine.
Mass will be Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine, with interment to follow at 1:30 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 108 S. Washington, Devine, Texas 78016
