Maria Luisa (Ramirez) Velasquez, of Devine, passed away Saturday November 4, 2017 in San Antonio, at the age of 81.
Maria was born March 12, 1936 in Devine to Jose and Francisca (Pompa) Ramirez, who precede her in death, along with her husband Santiago “Jimmy” and brothers, Gilbert and Humberto Ramirez.
On July 15, 1953 she married Santiago “Jimmy” Velasquez.
She is survived by her children, Lorraine Garza and husband Louis, Michael Velasquez, Dora Rodriguez and husband Ruben all of Devine; grandchildren, Ruben Rodriguez and wife Crystal of Castroville, Ryan Garza and wife Kristen of Devine, Marcus Velasquez and wife Marcela of Castroville, Megan Ferrell and husband Joey of Castroville; great-grandchildren, Roderic Rodriguez, Kaden Velasquez, Kensley Ferrell, Gunner Ferrell, Kambri Velasquez, Brynlee Garza, Reece Rodriguez, and Kyler Garza, who is due in February of 2018; siblings, Delia Guajardo and husband Refugio, Catarina Romo and husband Navor, Eloise Romo and husband Natividad, all of Kyle.
Visitation will be held Thursday November 9, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine.
Funeral mass will be held Friday November 10, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Services will conclude at the church.
