Linda Mae Biediger Mann

Linda Mae Biediger Mann, of Castroville, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2017 in San Antonio, at the age of 56 years after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 15, 1961 in Germany. In 1979, she graduated from John Jay High School in San Antonio. She continued her education at the University of Texas-Austin, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in fine arts. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from UTSA.
Linda was a devoted mother and hard working. She loved her students and they in turn, loved her. She taught Hermann Sons Dance and Tumbling, starting when she was fourteen years old, at Ruth Ellis Dance Studio. She continued her career with Hermann Sons, teaching dance and tumbling for a total of twenty years, with most of the years at the Castroville Hermann Sons Lodge beginning in 1984, and also a few years for the Sabinal Hermann Sons Lodge. In 2007, she received an alternative certification for teaching and began teaching at Somerset ISD, teaching sixth grade math at Savannah Heights Intermediate School. She was known as “Miss Linda” by her dance and tumbling students, and as “Ms. Mann” by her math students.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Richard A. Biediger, Jr.
Survivors include her loving children, Kaela Mann of San Antonio and Troy Mann of Abilene; mother, Elva Biediger of San Antonio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Debbie Biediger of Ft. Worth, Jerry and Amy Biediger of Dallas; nieces and nephews, Gabrielle, Aaron and Brian Biediger, Sophie and Sydney Biediger; and many, many friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at 4:00 pm at St. Louis Catholic Church, 1306 Angelo St., Castroville, TX 78009, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
