Katherine Mae Rainosek Espinosa was called to her heavenly home on January 21, 2018.
On May 1st, 1992 Katherine was born in Yoakum, Texas. A few years later, Katie and her family moved to Hondo, Texas and have lived here for 20 years.
Katie Mae found her first love and was married on December 17, 2011 to Christopher Espinosa. Her second love was discovered a few months later, when Katie decided to bake a cake for her mother Ronni Oliver and sister Emily Jo’s shared birthday. She found what she wanted to do in life. In February of 2015, she enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu-College of Culinary Arts to pursue her dreams. In January of 2016 she graduated with honors at the top of her class.
Katie Mae was an unconditional lover of life. When she would start a new hobby, she invested all her time, love and energy. Her passion in life was unmatched and was willing to help any way she could. Katie sang at the top of her lungs, always shared her opinions, loved with all her heart, body, and soul and had the kindest spirit. Her energy was infectious and her love always felt genuine.
Katie Mae was a lover of all life, and appreciated the beauty of waking up each day. Katie Mae never wasted any time and always worked to be a better person every day.
Katie Mae and Christopher were married on December 17, 2011 in Hondo, TX. Their family grew two years later when love couldn’t stop her from bringing home Squeaks, her pet cat. Katie’s love for animals continued to grow and recently saved Beans from the San Antonio Humane Society, and adopted Luna soon thereafter. Together, the family had fallen in love with nature and seized every opportunity to go hiking or camping with Beans and Luna.
Katie Mae Espinosa leaves behind her husband, Christopher Espinosa of Devine; her mother Veronica Kurtz Oliver and her mother’s fiancé Scott Bader of Hondo; her father David and his wife Nancy Rainosek of Shiner. Brothers and sisters; Danielle Rainosek of Victoria; Wesley Rainosek of Hondo; Emily Oliver of San Antonio; Ginny Oliver of Hondo; Cody Rainosek, Bianca Rainosek, Jacob Rainosek, Natalie Rainosek, Matthew Lerch, Brandon Lerch, and Ariana Lerch all of Shiner. Nephew Casey Rainosek of Hondo. Her loving grandparents Ernest and Melinda Kurtz of Shiner; Grandfather Robert Zissa of Yoakum; great-grandmother Emily Kubecka Gill of Shiner, numerous aunts, uncles, and many more close friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Karen Gill Zissa of Yoakum; Dorothy Mae Mikes and Francis Daniel Rainosek of Shiner; and great-grandfather Joe P. Gill of Corpus Christi.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm and a Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Hondo, Texas. Arrangements are being made by Guinn-Horger Funeral Home.
The family invites memorial gifts to be given in Katie Mae’s honor to San Antonio Humane Society.
