In their season opener, the Junior Varsity Warhorses second team opened against the Alamo Heights Mules. Devine rotated through all their pitchers giving each a chance to throw against the Mules. Pitching for Devine was Christian Gerlach, Robert Ramirez, Armando Gutierrez, and Colin Dishman. The JV had some great defensive plays and was able to get some base hits by Dishman, Xsavior Martinez and Evan Priest.
Coach Bart Oropeza said, “This young team will continue improving as the season progresses and will prepare for” future games.
Coming up for this JV team is Central Catholic on March 5th, La Vernia March 15th, Bandera March 19th and more after that.
