JV Warhorses go 1-1-1 in Uvalde tournament

In the Uvalde JV tournament, the Warhorses started off against Del Rio with Colin Dishman on the mound until Armando Gutierrez took the mound in the 5th. With 9 base hits and a lot of stolen bases the game ended in a 6-6 tie. Getting base hits in this first game were Christian Gerlach, Armando Gutierrez, Eliseo Perez, Colin Dishman, Jacob Barron, and Evan Priest with one each. Blaine Miller had 2 base hits.
The only loss of the tournament came against Hondo in their second game at 4-6. Miller and Xsavior Martinez each had 2 base hits while Priest had one.
In the final game of the tournament, the JV Warhorses bet Somerset 10-7. Robert Ramirez, Riley Barton, and Darren Lafferty all pitched this game. “The boys were putting a lot of pressure on the Somerset Bulldogs by putting the ball in play and aggressive base running. It was good for the team to end the tournament with a victory,” stated Coach Bart Oropeza.
