JV Mustangs off to 1-3 start

The Natalia Junior Varsity Mustangs tipped off the 2018-2019 basketball season last Tuesday night at home against the Devine Warhorses. After suffering a close heart-breaking loss, the boys in blue traveled to Comfort for a two day event in which they were able to win one of three games competed in.
“I am extremely proud of the boys as they are committed to fighting each and every game as well as practicing good communication,” Coach Santos said.
The JV Warhorses were able to slip past the Mustangs 35-32 during the December 27th season opener in Natalia.
During the Comfort Tourney, Natalia fell to Poteet 43-23, fell to Comfort 46-16 before picking up a 30-18 win over Kerrville Our Lady of the Hills Catholic School.
“We will continue to play good team basketball and continue to grow as a team,” Santos said.
Natalia’s game on press night versus Leakey was canceled due to the fact the Eagles remain in the 6-man football playoffs.
The Stangs return to action on Tuesday, December 11th when they travel to Atascosa County to battle the Pleasanton Eagles at 5:00 p.m.
