John “Jack” Francis Hecker, age 64 of Castroville, TX, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in San Antonio, TX. Jack was born August 6, 1954 in Callicoon, New York, one of ten children of George Joseph Hecker and Evelyn Frances Durney Hecker.
In 1972, Jack graduated from Jeffersonville High School in Jeffersonville, New York. He joined the Army and served in the 2/75 Ranger Battalion. Currently, he was the owner of Texas Rock and Water, a swimming pool construction company.
Jack was preceded in death by two of his siblings, a brother, George Joseph Hecker, Jr. and a sister, Donna Marie Hecker.
Survivors include his wife, Kadi Hecker of Castroville; children, Joseph Russell Hecker of Midland, TX, Elizabeth Hecker of San Diego, CA, Jason (Amy) Hecker of Jenks, OK and Lisa (John) Rose of Humble, TX; grandchildren, Kaleb Rose, Elijah Rose, Kennedy Rose, Isiah Hecker, Hannah Hecker, Luke Hecker, Wyatt Hecker and Mykala Santos; parents, George and Evelyn Hecker of Castroville; siblings, Mary (Gerry) Barnhart of Schaghticoke, NY, Patricia Ann Hecker of Houston, TX, Michael Dom (Christine) Hecker of Boerne, TX, Tresa (Andrew) Shalit of Castroville, TX, Rita (Scott) Anderson of Austin, TX, Ed (Norma) Hecker of Castroville and Tom (Theresa) Hecker of Castroville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was Sunday, December 9, 2018, starting at 3:30 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection was Monday, December 10, 2018, at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at a later date in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery Columbarium.
