James “Jim” Lee Crenshaw

James “Jim” Lee Crenshaw, of San Antonio, passed away on April 13, 2018 at the age of 70 years at his home.
Jim was born December 30, 1947 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the youngest of three children born to Joseph and Lilian Crenshaw. Jim graduated from Carbondale High School in 1966 and then earned his associates degree at Southern Illinois University.
In June of 1968, Jim joined the Air Force and served for 22 years. He met his future wife, Roberta Hopp, at church in Homestead, Florida where both he and Roberta’s father were stationed. They married on June 29, 1970 in San Antonio, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Roberta Crenshaw of San Antonio; children, Christina Crenshaw of San Antonio, Michele (Jeff) McLain of Enterprise, Alabama and Jon Crenshaw of San Antonio; grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” McLain and Megan McLain; sister, Sandra (Fred) Edwards of Marion, Illinois; brother John (Jan) Crenshaw of Bowling Green, Kentucky as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was Monday, April 23, 2018 starting at 9 am with the Funeral Service at 10 am at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 910 W. Loop 1604 N, San Antonio, TX. Private Graveside Service and Interment with full military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
