Harold Thomas “Tom” Dawson, Jr.

Harold Thomas “Tom” Dawson, Jr., of Castroville, passed away on September 29, 2017 in San Antonio at the age of 84 years. He was born September 10, 1933 in San Antonio.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Thomas Dawson, Sr. and Carrie Morgan Dawson and his granddaughter, Brandy Cummings.
On June 25, 1953, Tom married Deloy Martin at her parent’s home in San Juan, Texas. Tom was a math teacher and coach at Donna High School, and later was involved in agricultural business management. He and his wife moved to Castroville after retirement, where he continued his interests in antiques, golf and other hobbies. Tom loved his town of Castroville and was an active participant in the St. Louis Catholic Church and community affairs.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Deloy Dawson of Castroville and three children, Clark Dawson and his wife Robin of Universal City, Susan Farrell of Floresville, Robert Dawson and his wife Carolyn of Lozano; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One decade of the Holy Rosary was recited at 10:00 am on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Louis Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection. Interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A.C.T.S. of the St. Louis Catholic Church.
