Happy and she knows it

A’Dell got to hold her teacher’s hand while she was guiding her toward me at the pick-up line today. She was all smiles, bouncing up and down once she got to me.
“Did you have a good day?” I asked.
She smiled and said shyly, “I got to hold Mrs. Bates’ hand! I love holding Mrs. Bates hand!”
Mrs. Bates grabbed her hand to walk her across the driveway, but in A’Dell’s mind it was such a wonderful privilege.
How adorable, I thought to myself. It’s funny how little things like this can be such a treasured thing in the eyes of a child.
When we got home, she started jumping on the trampoline. I was standing across the fence washing my windshield off, and it was awful hot outside so I sprayed her a couple of times with the hose–to which she responded “This is the best day ever!”
She sure is a happy little thing, and her glass is ALWAYS “half full.” As we drove by a few fields with wildflowers yesterday, she got all worked up and excited exclaiming, “Mom! Mom! Everywhere I look–there are flowers! Every single place I look! Flowers! Flowers! Flowers! They are so pretty!”
I just saw a few patches here and there, but I guess it all depends on how you look at it.
So there you have it…if you want to put a smile on your little angel’s face–hold their hand, drive around and look at the wild flowers, and spray them with the water hose when you get home!
