GoFundMe set up for local EMT after stroke

AMR paramedic and Hondo volunteer firefighter Thomas Foster was working at the Devine EMS station on Wednesday, July 18 when he suffered an ischemic stroke. Witnesses saw the stroke occur and rushed Foster to Southwest General Hospital, where he was given TPA (clot busters).
Foster has regained most of what was affected by the stroke, but is currently on leave from work until medically cleared to return. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family cover the extensive medical bills and related expenses: https://www.gofundme.com/medical-expenses-4-thomas-foster.
In addition, the Hondo VFD and other area VFDs are holding a sausage plate fundraiser for the Foster family this Saturday, August 4 at Hondo Volunteer Fire Station #2, 1309 Ave. Y in Hondo. Plates are $7.00 each and include sausage, beans, and potato salad. The plates, which are to-go only, will be served from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who can help.
