The Freshman Arabians faced Boerne November 6th in their season opener and unfortunately lost 29-18. Jessenia Philipi was the top scorer for the Arabians with 8 points, Sidney Weyel and Bri Bowyer both had 4 and Mac Mcllean scored 2 points.
Coach Kailyn Miller said this about the game, “The girls did a great job against Boerne in our season opener. We knew it was going to be a tough game but they played hard and never gave up. I can’t wait to see what they will do in the Pearsall Tournament this week.”
The Freshmen are playing in the Pearsall Tournament on Thursday the 16 and Saturday the 18 with the first game for Devine is at 5pm.
Pearsall Tournament
The Freshmen Arabians will participate in the Pearsall Basketball Invitational set for November 16 and 18 in an eight team tournament.
Games will start Thursday at 2:00 pm Utopia vs Pleasanton followed by Uvalde vs Pearsall at 3:30 pm. The winners of these matchups will play at 10:30 am Saturday and the losers at 9:00 am.
Devine vs Hondo will be played Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and Medina Valley will play at 6:00 pm. The winners of these matchups will play at 1:30 pm on Saturday and the losers at 12:00 p.m.
Consolation will be played at 3:00 p.m. Third place will play at 5:00 p.m. and the Championship game is set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
