Freshmen Arabians beat Carrizo Springs, Cole

Carrizo Springs was no match for the Freshmen Arabians in their first district game last Friday. “We had too many missed serves in set one. But we picked it up and made up for that in set 2. Great first win of District,” said Coach Kimberly Lane. The Arabians won the first set 25-15 and the second set went much quicker and ended 25-5.
Linsey Herrera had 6 aces, Dylan Reyna and Ana Pompa each with 4, and Cece Martinez 1. Darian Alvarez had 4 kills, Yessika Garza 2 and Aleyna Gerlach 1.

The Freshman Arabians made quick work of the Cole Cougars on Friday, September 18th. Winning their first set 25-4, the young Arabians kept a cool head and continued to play hard in the second set to win it 25-3. This powerful win is a great way to end pre-district play. Combined in the two sets, the Arabians had 19 team aces.
“They remained focused and did their best to give it all that they had when the ball was put right back on their side. They are ready for district and with all the experiences thus far, I believe they will do great,” said Coach Kimberly Lane.
Offensively Kendall Marek led with 5 aces, assisted by Dylan Reyna and Lacey Shook with 4 each, Ana Pompa 3, Bri Torres 2 and Emily Cruz 1. Defensively Shook led with 3 kills, assisted by Aleyna Gerlach 2, Yessika Garza and Kaydi Yeats with 1 each.
The Freshman Arabians will play in Crystal City October 2 and face Pearsall at home on October 5.
