Five teens suspected in home burglary

On Thursday, November 30 a neighbor alerted police about a burglary that occurred the night prior at a home on CR 6812 in the Natalia area near I-35. The Medina County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call, and found that the young suspects had kicked in the back door of the home, and a gun was stolen before suspects fled the scene.
“The suspects had departed the scene, but interviews and investigations led us to two of the suspects homes, and we now have 5 suspects in this case, and we expect to have warrants for all of them soon,” said Sheriff Randy Brown. “We have four 17-year-old male suspects and one 14-year-old male suspect we believe were involved in this burglary.”
The stolen gun was recovered by the sheriff’s department.
“We recovered the rifle that was stolen from the residence. The rifle was hidden on a nearby property as the suspects fled the scene,” Sheriff Brown said.
The investigation continues in this developing case.
