Eugenia Mary FitzSimon Ducos

Eugenia Mary FitzSimon Ducos, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away early in the morning of August 11, 2018 at her home in Castroville. She was 90 years old.
Eugenia was born June 1, 1928 in Castroville, the oldest of two children of Bernard and Mary Bohl FitzSimon. In 1945, Eugenia graduated from St. Louis High School and went on to continue her education at the University of Texas and Our Lady of the Lake University.
On June 16, 1948, Eugenia married Frank J. Ducos, Jr. at St. Louis Catholic Church. They were blessed with 49 wonderful years of marriage at the time of Frank’s death on July 24, 1997. Eugenia was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Altar Society, Lady of the Holy Sepulchre, Sultanas, Pillars of San Fernando Cathedral, and American Legion Post 460 Auxiliary. She also enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mary FitzSimon; husband, Frank J. Ducos, Jr.; infant son, Paul Ducos; brother and sister-in-law, David and JoNell FitzSimon; granddaughter-in-law, Stefanie Bradford; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Lillian Ducos.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Frank J. Ducos, III and Susan of Burkburnett, Tom Ducos and Phyllis of Dunlay, Susan Bradford and David of Omak, Washington, Ann Tomlinson and Sam of San Antonio; grandchildren, Laura Ducos Carr (Aron), Sarah Ducos Alonso (Tony), Michelle Ducos Guinther (Keith), Kimberly Ducos Boehme (Todd), Weston Ducos (Chesney), Elizabeth Bradford Floyd (Steve), Bryce Bradford, Cheryl Bradford Kercher (John), Chase Bradford (Laura), Rachel Tomlinson Stolpa (Christopher), Jill Tomlinson Thompson (Colt); 22 great-grandchildren and two “on the way”; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Monday, August 13, 2018 starting at 5:30 pm at St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Mass of the Resurrection celebrated that evening at 7:00 pm. The Holy Rosary was recited on Tuesday morning, August 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment will follow the Rosary at St. Louis Cemetery Garden Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made in Eugenia’s memory to St. Louis Catholic School or the charity of your choice.
