Dora Schott Horner

Dora Schott Horner, age 98, of Hondo, passed away on November 22, 2018 in San Antonio. She was born July 4, 1920 in Bader Settlement to Paul John Schott and Alma Christina Hutzler Schott.
On June 1, 1937, she married Joe Riff and later was married to Ray Horner. Dora was a farmer and owner of the Flying Corner Café in San Antonio. She also worked at Haby and Mann Grocery Store in Castroville.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; brother, Calvin Schott; three sons-in-law, Pete Masters, John Tarvin, Sr. and John E. Lawrence, Sr.; and one granddaughter, Terri Ann Tarvin.
Survivors include her three daughters, Dorothy Masters, Jo Nell Tarvin and Betty Jean Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Patsy Ann Bendele (Bill), Brenda Kay Harris (Billy), Dwayne Masters (Pat), John Tarvin, (Michelle), Christie Ann McVay (Lee), Mistie Kay Lawrence, Benjamin Paul Lawrence (Michelle) and Keith Edward Lawrence (Jessica); 17 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018 starting at 10:00 am at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, followed by the Holy Rosary at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Dora’s memory to the charity of your choice.
