DMS track successful in Pearsall

The Devine Middle School Colts and Fillys track athletes competed in Pearsall on Friday, February 16th. Devine was well-represented taking over 100 7th and 8th grade athletes to compete in the Maverick Relays. The meet was ran as a “ribbon meet” so no team totals were recorded but the Devine kids won many blue or red ribbons proving their hard work paid off.
The coaching staff was very pleased with the approximate running times and competitive nature of each student. There were many bright spots, and some surprises, from the students who were competing in their first meet of the season. With limited time the athletes had to prepare due to basketball season just being completed and lost time due to weather, the kids ran and competed in field events admirably.
“We are happy with each student and are looking forward to another great meet on Thursday in Poteet,” stated Coach Khera Vay.
Field events will start at 4:15pm followed by the 2400m Run at 4:30 pm and the remaining running events at 5:30 pm.
