DMS tennis dominates Pearsall

The DMS tennis team hosted Pearsall on Monday, March 6, going 20-3 in all divisions across 7th grade and 8th grade.
“The middle school tennis team is really starting to put all the hard work into motion,” Coach Julie Oropeza said. “Tough work ethic and dedication are certainly paying off.”

Girl’s doubles
The 7th grade girl’s doubles teams went 9-1 against Pearsall.

The 7th grade boy’s doubles teams were undefeated, beating Pearsall 5-0.

Boy’s doubles
The 8th grade boys went 2-2 vs. Pearsall.
Jacob Barron/Denton Zeurcher def. Martinez/Garcia 6-2; Justin Rozier/DJ Brandon def. Martinez/Waldrum 7-5.
DJ Dzierzanowski/Kade Haas fell to Garcia/Waldrum 4-6, and Chase Loney/Jonathan Lawless were defeated by Tollett/Garza 4-6.
“Today against Pearsall, our group looked confident and focused. Overall today, Devine was 20-3 in these matches (7th grade 14-0, 8th grade 6-2). After resting on Spring Break, the Colts and Fillys will resume action and play at the District Tournament on March 25.”
