Devine Police Report July 13-18


July 13
1:20 AM – Officer located a male subject and a female subject walking. The male subject was found to be in possession of approximately 1.6 grams of meth and was jailed. The female subject was found to be in possession of approximately 4 grams of meth and was jailed.
1:40 AM – Complainant reported a brown Chevy pickup all over the road on NB IH-35. Unable to locate.
5:30 AM – Officer assisted the Medina County Sheriff’s Office at the Natalia football stadium.
9:48 AM – A female subject was at a store in the 1000 block of E. Hondo Ave. asking customers for money. The subject left the property prior to officer’s arrival.
11:20 AM – A female subject was detained by Walmart staff for shoplifting. The subject was jailed for theft $100-750.
5:35 PM – A subject stole merchandise from Walmart and fled. The subject was located in the 500 block of Pilgrim and the merchandise was recovered. Charges pending.
11:31 PM – Complainant reported something under the underpass in the middle of the road on Hwy. 173. Unable to locate; all was okay.
11:36 PM – A vehicle struck the side of an apartment building located in the 300 block of Hwy. 132 N. The male driver was found to be intoxicated and was jailed.
July 14
1:15 AM – Officer responded to the 200 block of Harralton Circle in reference to a mother and father arguing with their son about marijuana use. All was okay.
3:00 AM – Officers assisted DPS with a major accident on IH-35 NB near mile marker 121.
5:15 AM – Officers assisted DPS with a major accident including a fatality on IH-35 SB near mile marker 126.
8:38 PM – Complainant reported a white Chevy pickup truck all over the roadway on NB IH-35. Unable to locate.
July 15
12:10 AM – Complainant in the 800 block of Libold Dr. advised she heard a noise in her backyard. Officer checked the area; all was okay.
8:45 AM – Officer assisted Pearsall PD locate a silver Infiniti after a gas drive-off at HEB. Officer made a stop on the vehicle on IH-35 NB at mile marker 124 and identified the male driver. The driver agreed with Pearsall officer to go back to HEB and pay for the gas.
1:09 PM – Complainant reported a white F-250 crew cab swerving on IH-35 NB near mile marker 121. Unable to locate.
5:50 PM – Complainant found a bag with items. The belongings were returned to their owner.
8:54 PM – Officer dispatched to the 100 block of Renfro in reference to a small burn pile. The fire was put out.
July 16
1:45 AM – Complainant reported a male subject and a female subject at a store in the 500 block of W. Hondo Ave., possibly drinking. All was okay; the subjects were dropping off items at the Goodwill donation station.
8:58 AM – Complainant in the 400 block of Wilkens reported two Hispanic male subjects in a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck sitting in front of her property. All was okay; the subjects were surveyors.
10:26 AM – Someone took money from a business in the 100 block of N. Bright Dr. Owners wish to file charges.
4:37 PM – Complainant advised a male subject was on location and refusing to leave.
10:29 PM – Complainant in the 300 block of W. Moore Ave. advised his wife was on location intoxicated, and her sister was also on location, and were causing problems. The parties agreed to leave each other alone for the night.
July 17
2:20 AM – Complainant in the 1100 block of W. Hondo Ave. advised a male teenager was in her backyard. No one was located.
5:48 AM – Complainant in the 400 block of W. Coker Ave. reported a two vehicles taken from the location. No forced entry. The vehicles were stolen and one was wrecked in Medina County. The other vehicle was located in Corpus Christi by police and recovered
10:29 AM – Complainant reported damage to the Redbox machine at Walmart. Police are reviewing surveillance footage.
July 18
12:01 AM – Complainant reported three male subjects walking on Transportation Dr. refusing to let cars pass. Unable to locate.
12:20 AM – Officers observed two juvenile males walking in the 300 block of E. Hondo Ave. Officers gave courtesy ride to 600 block of Tilley.
1:08 AM – Complainant in the 500 block of Howell Ave. reported dogs barking in the area. Officers patrolled the area; all appeared okay.
8:47 AM – Complainant in the 300 block of W. Colonial Pkwy. advised her wallet was taken by her juvenile brother, who used her bank cards to make transactions.
4:02 PM – Complainant reported a white male wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt walking all over Hondo Ave. and stopping traffic. Officer made location; everything was okay.
6:03 PM – Officer assisted Frio County and the MCSO with serving a felony warrant on E. Hondo Ave. The subject was apprehended.
9:35 PM – Complainant in the 100 block of Bentson Dr. reported a small, dark-colored truck in the area shining a light at the school. Unable to locate.
10:08 PM – Officer dispatched to Walmart in reference to a male subject and a female subject arguing inside and outside of the store. The male was cited for assault by contact for hitting the female’s phone out of her hand. Charges pending.
