Devine Police Report April 18-26


April 18

4:25 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 1200 block of W. Hondo Ave. The female driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
April 20
9:16 AM – Complainant in the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave. reported a white female walking too close to the roadway.
7:23 PM – Complainant at a store in the 100 block of IH-35 S. reported a customer cussing and arguing with management due to not taking back an item. Officer advised the customer to leave the store. All was okay.
April 21
8:15 PM – Officers attempted to contact a female subject in the 700 block of Faye Ave. for Castroville PD. Negative contact.
10:50 PM – White Tahoe on location in the 200 block of N. Teel Dr. All was okay.
April 22
3:10 AM – Officers dispatched to the 100 block of Hall Dr. in reference to a garage door found halfway opened. Officers cleared the garage. No items missing or disturbed.
8:10 AM – An adult female in the 100 block of Howard Wallace was transported to University Hospital for an emergency detention. Charges pending for possession of a controlled substance PG1 < 1G.
5:59 PM – Complainant in the 600 block of Libold Dr. reported a white extended cab Ford pickup running a stop sign. Unable to locate.
April 23
2:09 AM – Officers assisted Medina County Sheriff’s Office deputies coming from Hondo. A female subject advised she was carjacked and two subjects took her four-year-old son into brush area. Officers located and stopped the vehicle at mile marker 113. Frio County took over the call.
7:55 AM – A male subject found two sets of pliers and turned them into PD.
1:51 PM – A male subject was parked on the side of the road with the engine running in the 1000 block of FM 2200 W. The subject was intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests and was jailed. The subject was also served with a blue warrant from the pardon and parole board in Austin.
April 24
3:52 PM – Officers dispatched to a store in the 300 block of Hwy. 132 N. for a bald white male with a beard and a slim build, wearing blue jeans and a black long sleeve shirt. Unable to locate.
5:00 PM – A male subject exited a store in the 300 block of Hwy. 132 N. with unpaid merchandise in his pants and boots. Because the subject has prior theft charges, the offense was enhanced to a higher degree and the subject was jailed.
5:00 PM – Officers served 10 municipal warrants.
5:10 PM – A bank employee requested a patrol by because of an unknown car parked outside the bank.
5:28 PM – Officers dispatched to a store in the 100 block of IH-35 S. in reference to a possible theft. Video needed to be reviewed. A theft statement was left with the complainant.
7:36 PM – Complainant in the 600 block of N. Windy Knoll Dr. reported a white Camaro driving fast. Unable to locate.
April 25
1:18 PM – Syringes were found in Hester Park. The syringes were put into a sharps container by officer.
2:22 PM – Complainant on IH-35 NB reported a 2003 Chevy driving recklessly. The vehicle’s registered address is in the 100 block of Renfro Dr. Unable to locate.
4:00 PM – A male subject entered a business in the 300 block of E. Hondo Ave. and asked to look at a handgun. The subject put it inside his pants and left the store. The subject was apprehended by Devine PD and jailed. The stolen gun was recovered.
April 26
7:45 AM – Traffic light malfunctioning on eastbound Hondo Ave. TxDot was notified.
