Devine ISD hosts upcoming parent Internet safety training and annual Title I meeting Oct. 24

Devine ISD will host Digital Citizenship – a one-hour training for parents on internet/computer safety on Tuesday, October 24 at 10:00 am in the Devine Intermediate Library. Susan Reeves, an Educational Specialist in Digital Age Learning from Education Region Service Center 20, will address children’s access to technology and how it can both empower and endanger them. Come to this training to learn what to look out for as parents in your child’s digital interactions. What is reasonable in usage? How do you find out about apps, games and websites? Should children and teens have social media accounts? How should you handle cyberbullying? You will leave this training with practical advice and tools to assist you in your role as a 21st Century parent! (Note: This training was also presented in the DSAC on the evening of September 19.)
The Digital Citizenship training will be followed by the Annual Title I Parent and School Information Meeting at 11:15 am. DISD administrators and staff will inform parents of campus participation and requirements in Title I-Part A and explain the right and opportunities as parents and families to be involved in their child’s learning and achievement. Your participation is appreciated.
