Devine ISD hosts parent training on Internet safety Sept. 19

Devine ISD will host a one-hour training for parents on internet/computer safety on Tuesday, September 19 at 6:30 pm in the DSAC (Devine Student Activity Center) Cafeteria. Susan Reeves, an Educational Specialist in Digital Age Learning from Education Region Service Center 20, will address children’s access to technology and how it can both empower and endanger them. Come to this training to learn what to look out for as parents in your child’s digital interactions. What is reasonable in usage? How do you find out about apps, games and websites? Should children and teens have social media accounts? How should you handle cyberbullying? You will leave this training with practical advice and tools to assist you in your role as a 21st Century parent! Babysitting will be provided for school age children through 6th grade.
Note: This training will also be offered during a morning session at 10:00 am on October 24 in the Intermediate Library.
