Deanna Elizabeth Ihnken Hoffman-Diack

Deanna Elizabeth Ihnken Hoffman-Diack, of Castroville, passed away on August 3, 2017 in San Antonio, at the age of 71 years. She was born November 17, 1945 at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, to parents, Eric L. Ihnken and Mae Elizabeth Byrom Ihnken.
Deanna graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio. On October 20, 1967, she married Milton “Mickey” Hoffman, Jr. in a ceremony in Bexar County. They were married for 31 years at the time of his death on July 18, 1999. She found love again, and on August 26, 2006, she married Ian W. Diack in a ceremony in Bandera. Before her retirement, Deanna was a legal secretary and a medical transcriptionist.
Deanna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton “Mickey” Hoffman, Jr. and sister, Rebecca Gottman.
Survivors include her husband of almost 11 years, Ian Diack of Castroville; daughters and son-in-law, Kristan and Carlton Groff of Castroville, Amy Hoffman of San Antonio and Lauren Hoffman of Castroville; grandchildren, Denver Tedford, Jordan Groff and Dawson Groff; stepchildren, Laura (Doyce) Powell of San Antonio, Ewen Diack of Scotland; step-grandchildren, Kate Powell and Connor Powell; sister, Cherryl Lynn (Travis) Potter; brother, Billy Spence; in-laws, Clifford Gottman, Cherryl and John Glyn Wernette, Eileen Perrie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 7:00 pm at St. Louis Catholic Church. The Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:30 am at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. A reception will follow the Rosary at the Braden Keller Center. Entombment of her ashes in the St. Louis Cemetery Garden Mausoleum will be private for family at a later date.
