The Current Events Club met in the home of Sandy Beck on May 9. The installation of new officers was conducted by Carol Crouch with a spice theme. Officers for the upcoming year are: Sarah McAlpin, President; Linda Kreinhop, First Vice-President; Kay Shultz, Second Vice-President; Alma Horvath, Recording Secretary; Judi Jopling, Treasurer; and Peggy Cooper, Corresponding Secretary.
Red roses and a thank you from club members were presented to out-going President, Dinah Argo.
Treasurer Judi Jopling reported on the club’s contribution of $300 to the Pass it on for Prom Project. Also, the club increased the amount of the annual high school scholarship to $1,000. The 2017 recipient is DHS senior Brooklyn Anderson.
The next project of the club will be the Saturday luncheon for the Mission Devine volunteers.
