Friday night was a great night to be a part of the Colt and Filly track program. The athletes competed in Pearsall for their season opener and the coaching staff could not be more impressed with what they saw. Pearsall ran the track meet off in a practice meet manner which allowed many DMS athletes to go home with ribbons as many placed well within their heats.
“We had kids exceed expectations and surpass distance, height and time goals,” stated Coach Khera Vay. “This group of kids have worked really hard to get in shape quickly and their effort was rewarded. There were no team totals recorded but we foresee many team championships coming home in the next 5 meets.”
The teams and coaches returned to the track Tuesday to work towards the upcoming Poteet meet on February 23rd. Field events will start at 4:15, the 2400 meter run at 4:30, and running events at 5:30.
