Online Soil Education Workshop May 7th

Wimmit, Frio, Kinney, Medina, Uvalde and Zavala counties will present an Online Soil Education Workshop on May 7th beginning at 6 pm. The speaker will be Dr. Jake Mowrer – Extension Associate Professor – Soil and Crop Sciences.
Topics to be discussed are:
Proper sampling techniques
Importance of soil sampling
Results interpretation
Choosing the right fertilizer
Fertilizer calculator
When and how to apply fertilizer

Family fun day April 6 at Devine Acres to benefit 6 year old Audrey Jane Capps

Registration for the Some Run Fun Run /Walk will kick off at 7:30 a.m. followed by a full day.
The “Family Fun Day” admission opens at 10am, with a meet and greet with the Singing Princesses, Paw Patrol, and Power Rangers and Batman.

Easter Bunny to stop at Golf Course!

ATTENTION: The Easter Bunny will be stopping at Devine Golf Course and leaving lots of treats for area youngsters as he makes his way through Devine!
The Devine Golf Group is hosting it’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, and the whole community is invited to come out and join in on the fun! It will be Saturday, March 30 at 4PM.

Early Childhood – Learn, Grow, Eat and Go!

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is partnering with Castroville Public Library to provide a free 4-week garden and plant series targeting children aged 3-6 years old. It combines plant and garden learning, food and nutrition, and brain and body-boosting physical activities, along with novel ways to engage parents, schools, and the community. During these 4 weeks children will learn all about plant needs & parts, seeds & roots, stems & leaves, along with flowers & fruits! Join the fun starting Wednesday April 10th – 10:30 am at the Castroville Public Library. Natalia MDD 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt March 23

The Natalia MDD would like to invite all the little folks in the Community to their 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday at 2:00pm, March 23, 2024. It will be held at 2079 St. Hwy 132 N., the future site of Natalia’s Community Center. There will be games, snacks and lots of Easter Eggs, some with cash prizes! It’s open for toddlers to Jr. High kiddos. Bring your baskets and be ready to hunt those Eggs!

Eclipse- expect road closures

Devine will be closing several roads beginning a few days before the Eclipse as a lot of traffic is expected to pass through on it’s way to Bandera/Kerville where the Eclipse is best viewed. Stay tuned for more info.
Also, everyone is invited to watch the Great North American Eclipse at Warhorse Stadium on April 8, 2024 from 11am to 3pm. A Limited number of eclipse viewing Glasses will be handed out on a first come, first serve Basis.

Bandera County Agri-Land Workshop March 26 & Atascosa County Agri-Land Workshop April 29

Alamo RCD Area Inc. is holding a Workshop in Bandera County in Lakehills at The Way Church on March 26, 2024 AND a Workshop in Atascosa County at the Jourdanton Community Library on April 29, 2024.
