Campos to throw Discus in Austin May 12

Arabian Stephanie Campos punched her ticket to State in discus with a throw of 127’4″ which was good enough for 2nd place. The State meet is May 12.

Senior Stephanie Campos will finish her high school Arabian career by throwing the discus in Austin this Friday morning at 10:00 am on the University of Texas campus at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Campos qualified for the State Meet by throwing 127’4” at Kingsville for a second place finish on April 25th.
Stephanie is motivated by being able to do her best this coming Friday.
“I want to do my personal best against the other girls that qualified for State. I have worked hard to get to this point.”
Coach Devin Rotramel had this to say about Stephanie, an athlete that he has coached since she wore a Fillys uniform in 8th grade.
“She is a very talented thrower who utilizes good form to throw her best. She works hard and it is great to see that hard work pay off for her. I am really proud of Stephanie.”
On Thursday, the high school student body and faculty will have a send-off for Stephanie and Jack Zimmerle. Zimmerle will be throwing the shot put Friday evening at 6:00 pm. They will depart from in front of the high school, heading to Austin at 2:00 pm. Those wanting to show their support are encouraged to be in attendance by 1:55 pm.
