Responsibility for chemical inventory and bill at golf course still in question

By a 3-2 vote, the Devine City Council rejected a motion to release the management group previously in charge of the city golf course from responsibility for an outstanding balance of $36,000 due for lawn chemicals.

Haby receives 40 vials of antivenom battling Rattlesnake bite, see how you can help cheer him up

Medina County youngster Lance Haby, 4 years old, was struck by a rattlesnake this past Saturday, August 26. He was rushed to University Hospital by ambulance, and has received 40 vials of life-saving antivenom.

Down to one water well… Devine calls emergency meeting, new pump and back-up on the way

The pump on the Edwards Water Well #1 went down last Friday, August 25, 2023 leaving only one well to service the entire City of Devine, prompting an emergency meeting. At one point in time the City of Devine had five wells.

Warhorses host Crystal City in Devine for Parent’s Night


Crystal City comes to Warhorse Stadium Friday night for each team’s second game of the 2023 season.  The Javelinas are coming off a 42-28 setback at the hands of Brackettville and, similarly to Devine, are looking to get their first “W” of the season.
The opening night crowd was good, and the student section definitely showed out!  Let’s Maroon Out the stadium this Friday for Parent’s Night.

Clutch Field-Goal lifts Pirates to opening victory!

There is a buzz around Lytle, Texas, as a new sense of hope and pride is alive and well. This pride escalated last Friday night, as Pirate Nation was able to “Dig Deep” with 28 seconds to go as the Pirates were set for a game winning 31 yard field goal attempt.
