Arabians take win over Squaws

On December 11th, the Arabians faced the Squaws and after four quarters of smart passes and quick ball handling, the Arabians won 69-35. Coach Jim Sessions and his team took advantage of Jourdanton’s poor passes and had 33 points off of turn overs. “We shot it well and we did a good job of limiting Jourdanton easy opportunities. We did a good job defensively creating turnovers and we won the battle in the paint. In all, it was a great team effort,” said Coach Sessions.
The game started off with a 22-8 lead which Devine gained by running their offense and putting pressure on the Squaws. The referees were quick to call fouls and by the very end of the second quarter, Devine was in foul trouble. Jourdanton’s zone defense was nothing new for the Arabians and it was easily broken.
The Arabians started the second half with a full court press but quickly dropped it when Jourdanton still struggled making their passes. Preslee Quisenberry was a strong leader the whole game but took an elbow to the eye and had to ice it the rest of the quarter. Devine finished out the game as strong as they started and it was a great road win for them. Overall, the Squaws had 35 turnovers.
Alissa Stehle had 8 points with 2 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 steal. Sierra Pompa 2 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.
