Arabians finish first half of season with a win

The Arabians struggled to find their game against Cotulla in their last game before winter break and it wasn’t until the third quarter that they were able to take control and held the Cowgirls to just 4 points that half. Their strong defense is what kept them in the game when they couldn’t get their shots to sink. The Arabians offense came back in the fourth quarter when they scored an impressive 24 points.
“We once again played good defense and that kept us in front on the scoreboard. We had a season high of 22 steals in this game. We finally got the pace of the game in our favor in the second half and we started to make shots in the fourth quarter to put the game away.” Coach Jim Sessions
Alissa Stehle 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Sierra Pompa 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal. Macey Hein 1 point, 1 rebound, 7 steals, and 1 block. Preslee Quisenberry 8 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals, and 1 block. Kaylee Howard 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Megan Runyan 10 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. Gabby Rodriguez 2 points, 1 rebound, and 2 steals. Clarissa Zamora 8 points, 3 rebounds, and2 steals. Ally Taylor 2 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Maddie Mata 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 steal. The Arabians made 45.5% of their free throws.
“We finished the first half of the season with a record of 17-4. I am very pleased with what this team has done over the past month and a half. They seem to be getting better every week. I am super excited to see what is in store for this group when we get back to playing after the Christmas break.” Coach Sessions
The Arabians are now 17-4 with only two games, Fredericksburg December 28th and Ingram December 31st, before district starts on January 4th against Hondo.
