The Devine Arabian golf team shot a season-tying best 466 on the first day of the District 29-4A tournament at the Devine Golf Course this past Monday. The team improved the second round on Tuesday by shooting a 458 to finish with a 924. That score earned them a trip to Corpus Christi to compete at the Regional Tournament on April 24 and 25.
Carrizo Springs won the championship shooting a 418/412 for an 830 total. Pearsall finished with a 498/500, totaling 998, 74 strokes behind the Arabians. Crystal City completed their rounds with a 518/500 for a 1,018.
I am extremely proud of what these girls were able to accomplish. We took a comfortable lead ahead of Pearsall from Day 1 and turned it into an insurmountable lead halfway through the second round on Day 2. Each of them competed to the best of their abilities to rightfully earn their trip.
