Arabians bounce back after Antonian loss to beat Pearsall to open District with a win

The Arabians played Antonian on September 19th and Pearsall on September 22nd. They won their first district game against Pearsall in three.
“District is the part of the season that we have been looking forward to and working hard for,” said Coach Leigh Anne McIver.
Arabians vs. Antonian
The Arabians lost to Antonian in three games: 11-25, 11-25 and 15-25.
Offensively, they had 13 kills; Sierra Pompa and Addie Trojanowski each with 5, and Chesney Friesenhahn 3. They had 12 assists; Trojanowski led with 7, followed by Sydney Rendon with 3, and Alissa Stehle and Makenna Morales each with 1.
They had 2 blocks made by Pompa 1 and Trojanowksi 1. They also had 56 digs; Morales 20, Rendon 10, Friesenhahn and Trojanowski with 7 each, Stehle 5, Megan Runyan 3, Julie Ortiz 2 and Dana Aaron and Elizabeth Puente each with 1.
“Tonight was not our best performance,” Coach McIver said. “We will learn from this game, grow, and get ready for district play.”
Arabians vs. Pearsall
The Arabians beat Pearsall 25-13, 25-15, and 25-12 to claim their first district win.
Offensively, they had 44 kills; Trojanowski led with 17, followed by Pompa with 15, Caimee Fowler with 2, and Runyan, Aaron and Stehle each with 1. They had 7 aces; Friesenhahn 3, Morales 2, Stehle and Trojanowksi each with 1. The girls also had 41 assists; Trojanowski 23, Rendon 15, Morales 2, and Friesenhan 1.
Defensively, they had 3 blocks: Pompa, Friesenhahn, and Fowler each with 1. Also 60 digs: Morales 30, Friesenhahn 8, Trojanowski 7, Rendon 6, Ortiez 3, Pompa and Stehle each with 2, and Runyan and Fowler each with 1.
“This was a great way to open district,” Coach McIver said. “The speed of play was slower than we are used to, but the girls did a good job of keeping their feet moving and staying aggressive.”
