Arabian cross country 12th best 4A team in state

Getting to run on the state’s biggest stage, the Devine Arabian Cross Country team finished 12th in Round Rock at the State Meet. Canyon won the 4A division with 54 points followed by Decator (88) and Hereford (131).
Brooke Runyan led Devine finishing in 42nd place among the 147 runners with a time of 12:39.32. Mari Murillo’s 12:46.68 placed her near the top third at 56th place.
Espi Mendoza (81st-12:58.35), Brianna Bernal (96th-13:13.68), Kelli Geyer (100th-13:20.22), Brianna Bowyer (136th-14:13.27), and Yessika Garza (146th-14:40.50) rounded out the Arabian places and times. Audrey Longoria qualified as the alternate for the Arabian team.
Team standings: 1st-Canyon-54, 2nd-Decatur-88, 3rd-Hereford-131, 4th-Bandera-147, 5th-Andrews-196, 6th-Boerne-214, 7th-River Oaks Castleberry-233, 8th-Fairfield-233, 9th-Sunnyvale-245, 10th-LaFeria-258, 11th-Celina-264 (got tiebreak on 6th place finisher), 12th-Devine-264, 13th-Anna-277, 14th-Alvarado-302, 15th-Huffman-Hargrave-316, 16th-Lufkin Hudson-371.
