This accident happened last Friday evening as a minor was traveling to Devine for the big football game.
According to DPS, a minor was traveling toward Devine on Hwy 173 in a silver SUV when the driver reportedly missed their turn on CR 5710 just outside of Devine past the high school. The driver then pulled over on the shoulder to make a U-turn back onto Hwy 173.
At the same time, another driver in a black Ford pickup truck was traveling on Hwy 173. The two vehicles collided, but thanks to quick evasive action by the driver of the pickup truck, injuries were minimal. “It could have been a lot worse if the SUV would have been struck on the door.” There were no other passengers in the accident.
