7th grade Colts stampede Marion

Jaiden Burford hands off to Aiden Zapata.

The Devine 7th grade Colts won their first football game against Marion on Thursday, September 14th at Warhorse Stadium. They were able to hold Marion scoreless, taking the victory at 30-0.
Since Marion did not have a B team they played a mini scrimmage prior to the game with 15 plays offense and 15 plays defense. Nobody was able to score.
“On defense Aaron Saenz was in on almost every tackle. Zacheriah Johnson and Martin Perez used their speed to make tackles on the outside. Jack Schneider played a solid game in both run and pass defense,” stated Coach Lon Cozby.
“Marcus Rodriguez carried load offensively, and one TD run he nearly carried the whole Marion team on his back. Jaieden Burford did a great job of controlling the offense at QB. Proud of the start of the season, but we have a lot of room for improvement. I look forward to watching the team’s growth,” stated Coach Quenton Sanders.
