7th Grade Colts split games with Hondo

7th Gold Colts
In their second game of the season, the 7th Grade Gold Colts have beaten the Hondo Owls 51-23. In the blow out game, “they did amazing and played very well together and everyone scored,” said Coach Jacob Sanchez. The Colts shut out the Owls 14-0 in the first quarter and held them to 5 points in the second. In the third quarter the Owls came back a little at 38-17, but they could not close the gap in the fourth. They controlled the ball and played an aggressive game to make their season 2-0.
Josiah Morales scored 11 points, Roger Gutierrez 9, Zach Serna 8, Jonathan Weinkam 8, Victor Schnefer 8, Adrian Gutierrez 4, Kolt Hackebiel 3, Sebastian Espinoza 2, Cory Dirck 2, Jordan Barton 2, and Diego Estrada 2.
7th Maroon Colts
The Hondo Owls were just a tough fight for the 7th Grade Maroon Colts on Monday night and at the end of the game the Owls were ahead by just a few points at 33-37. The Colts kept working hard and never let the Owls get too far ahead of them. Scores by quarter: Q1 5-11, Q2 17-19, Q3 23-25, Q4 33-37.
Sammy Guardiola and Brandon Martinez scored 7 points each, Makhi Burford 5, Elijah Sanchez 5, Quenton Sanders 4, Aiden Bonilla 4, and Adrian Beltran 1 point. Zander Morris, Luke Friesenhahn, and Josiah Martinez also played against the Owls.
The Colts will face Pearsall on December 6th and play in the Hondo Tournament on December 8th.
